Tell us more about you. Your educational background, family, pets, hobbies.
I am happily married as of June 2025 to my wife, Meredith, and we have two fur babies; 2 cat rescues that we bottle fed named Milo and Bear and 2 dog rescues, a Belgian Malinois named Beacon, who is basically an Olympic high jumper, and a 12 pound Puggle named Dixie that pretty much rules the house. Our pets, running a business and our social lives keep us pretty busy but having children of our own is next on our list!
How long have you lived in the area where you will be servicing? What is your favorite thing about the area?
I lived all over the Houston area for a total of 30 years. What I love the most about the Greater Houston area is the pride we have for our city. We Texans tend to have a higher level of pride than any other state, and for those of us from the Houston area, we take that level of pride up to a whole next level.
What were the reasons/motivations that prompted you to start your own business? What is the most exciting thing about your new business venture?
I have always known that the next step in my career was to not to climb the corporate ladder further, but to build something of my own. I have been an employee benefits and commercial insurance broker for 15 years, and still am. For the last several years, I was leading a team of about 20 brokers. I figured that if I could build something and lead others to success for my employer, it was time for me to do that out on my own. I am still servicing my insurance clients, but am no longer weighed down with leadership so I have time to build this Sparkle Squad empire in the area.
Tell us about the area you’ll be operating in. What is it like? Does it have unique features that you consider special? Any key landmarks, rivers, mountains, historical sites, points of interest? Please list all.
My area covers all the way from the booming East End, down through Midtown/Med Center, all of the major universities, traversing through magnificent homes of West U/Rice Village/Bellaire, and ending up in the beautiful suburbs of Sugar Land/Sienna.
Are there any charities and/or community organizations you donate to, participate in, or support? If so, which ones?
My wife and I attend Second Baptist in Houston and our favorite part of the month is when we get to decide the various charities around Houston that we will be able to bless with our tithes and offerings.
What will make your Sparkle Squad business different from other local competitors?
Sparkle Squad brings a certain level of joy and excitement to exterior cleaning services that is not normally attached to this line of work. Our own joy comes from making everyone’s home and/or business, Sparkle! From the moment we roll in with our huge van with the Bubble Guy logo on the side, to the minute we head to the next job, our mobile billboard is there to spread joy, awe and bring excitement to our industry.
Can you provide us with one quote that summarizes how you plan on servicing your community as a Sparkle Squad business?
Pleasure in the job puts perfection in the work. -Aristotle
