Tell us more about you. Your educational background, family, pets, hobbies.
I have a background in technology and cybersecurity, where I’ve spent years helping enterprises protect themselves against modern digital threats. My wife has operated small business before and also worked in the corporate world. We decided to bring what we learned in our careers, like precision and professionalism, into the home services business. We live on Johns Island with our family, and when we’re not working, we are usually exercising, golfing, cooking, or watching great movies at the Terrace Theater!
How long have you lived in the area where you will be servicing? What is your favorite thing about the area?
We’ve lived in the Charleston area for several years and love the mix of small-town charm and coastal beauty. Johns Island feels like a community where people still wave from their driveways, and downtown Charleston is just a short drive away when we want great food or history. The blend of nature, water, and friendly faces makes it easy to love this place.
What were the reasons/motivations that prompted you to start your own business? What is the most exciting thing about your new business venture?
We wanted to build something tangible and community-focused—something that delivers visible results at the end of every day. After years in the corporate tech world, it was time to create a business where quality, professionalism, and people skills set us apart. The most exciting part is seeing that transformation happen in real time—turning a weathered property into something that looks brand new and seeing how proud customers are of their homes and businesses again.
Tell us about the area you’ll be operating in. What is it like? Does it have unique features that you consider special? Any key landmarks, rivers, mountains, historical sites, points of interest? Please list all.
Charleston is one of the most beautiful and historic cities in the country. Our service area spans Johns Island, James Island, West Ashley, Mount Pleasant, Summerville, Goose Greek, and the surrounding Lowcountry communities. It’s full of live oaks, tidal rivers, and historic architecture—from Rainbow Row to the Battery to Angel Oak. The salt air, humidity, and mossy trees create an amazing atmosphere—but also the perfect recipe for algae, mildew, and grime, which keeps us busy!
Are there any charities and/or community organizations you donate to, participate in, or support? If so, which ones?
We believe in supporting local initiatives and small community causes, especially those focused on veterans, youth development, and neighborhood improvement projects. As our business grows, we plan to formalize a “Clean It Forward” program—offering free or discounted exterior cleanings for community spaces or those in need.
What will make your Sparkle Squad business different from other local competitors?
We combine professionalism and precision from the corporate world with the friendliness and personal touch of a local business. We show up on time, look sharp, communicate clearly, and leave every job spotless. Our team is trained to care as much about the client experience as the final result—and we believe that’s what keeps our customers coming back
Can you provide us with one quote that summarizes how you plan on servicing your community as a Sparkle Squad business?
We don’t just clean surfaces—we elevate homes, refresh businesses, brighten neighborhoods, and make every customer feel proud of where they live and work.
